You can use paraffin wax lenses to make candles. They are easy to measure. The melting point is 60 °C. Heat the lenses in a suitable container in a water bath. The wax is transparent and can be colored. To extend the burning time of the candle, you can mix 10 parts of wax lenses with 1 part of stearin (10:1). The wax hardens in about 1-2 hours.
